An exciting week at the Australasian Aluminium Extrusion Conference (AAEC) in 🇦🇺

The programme in Brisbane featured numerous presentations on the latest developments in the aluminium industry. Extrutec contributed to the programme with two presentations by Jan Günter and Dennis Nordmeyer, focusing on green electrical solutions.

The significant interest and awareness surrounding this topic demonstrates the industry's initial shift towards carbon-neutral solutions. The enclosed exhibition area was used during the breaks to develop personal relationships and hold in-depth discussions about current and future equipment solutions by extrutec.

First day of Australasian Aluminium Extrusion Conference (AAEC) in Brisbane 🇦🇺

It was a day full of interesting presentations and good conversation. Green heating technology plays a key role in helping the Oceania region to reach their set environmental goals.

extrutec's extrusion equipment is designed to support this ambition by offering the highest possible energy efficiency in heating systems. The Inline-EHKO oven with an integrated Energy Saving Unit is a patented heating solution that meets the need for pure electrical heating with combined process efficiency.

Three exciting days at the biggiest Aluminum exhibition in Asia have come to an end

The 20th edition of the ALUMINIUM CHINA  closed with a record number of visitors. This demonstrates the importance of the industry as a whole, which is in complete Asia striving for modern, sustainable solutions.

Many customers from around the World visited our booth, as extrutec's heating solutions offer maximum process efficiency in combination with sustainability for all types of heating.

The shared exhibition stand with WEFA Group and Marx Group under the Melchers  umbrella was a great addition, as it demonstrates 'Made in Germany', 'Made in Mittelstand' and 'Made in family business'.

20 years of extrutec! 🎆

extrutec GmbH was founded 20 years ago, on July 1, 2005, by Uwe Günter. The company initially concentrated on the sale of spare parts, but was quickly able to launch technical innovations and thus enter the sale of new systems. The first products were limited to gas heating systems. This was quickly followed by other systems in the periphery of the extrusion press, including profile cooling and hot saws.

With the establishment of the electric furnace construction and induction technology division in 2019, extrutec finally entered into production and founded the Menden site.

High customer demand has allowed the company to grow in recent years to its current workforce of over 100 employees spread across three locations.

The 20th anniversary was celebrated yesterday at all extrutec locations with a relaxed party. Company founder and owner Uwe Günter shared his very own story with the employees, from the founding years as a sole trader to the company's current global orientation.

Interesting ALUMINUM 2025 in Nashville

Last week, this year's US aluminum trade fair took place in Nashville. The complete process chain of aluminum extrusion, casting, extrusion and final processing was represented by numerous companies.

We would like to thank you for the many interesting discussions.

The new 60MN extrusion line has officially been opened at HAIMK in Korea.

HAIMK, the joint venture between LS Materials and Hammerer Aluminium Industries, opened its new extrusion line in Gumi today. The plant is dedicated to producing battery cases and has an annual capacity of 300,000 EVs. Extrutec was awarded the contract to deliver the complete heating system, which includes a gas oven, an integrated energy-saving unit, a standalone induction furnace with friction-free billet clamping systems and a profile cooling system with Alpha Flex technology. A taper quench has also been installed to supplement the heating system. The scope of supply also includes an overhead die furnace, a fully automated ageing oven system and a heating furnace for press plates.

This project was the third to be completed using HAI's technological expertise, and the first outside Europe. A special thank you for the great cooperation was given to Jeong-Woo Cho (CEO HAI MK), Rob van Gils (CEO HAI), Markus Schober (COO HAI) and Peter Blatt (Project Manager HAI).

Topping-out ceremony at extrutec Lake Constance site

Yesterday was a special day for the extrutec site at Lake Constance. The construction of the second building is in full swing. The preliminary building work was ceremoniously completed yesterday.

At both extrutec sites in Moos and Menden, expansion projects are currently underway to increase the capacity of office and production workplaces. Both locations have reached their capacity limits and are now being progressively adapted to the requirements of extrutec's strategic orientation. This includes increased service activities in all areas and a focus on heating projects for all metals.

In the April 2025 issue of Light Metal Age, our project with General Extrusions International (GEI) in Ohio, USA, was published

The article highlights the installation of a state-of-the-art induction heating furnace from extrutec GmbH at GEI's extrusion plant in Youngstown, Ohio. The project aimed to enhance process reliability, improve temperature uniformity, and increase energy efficiency.
The new furnace, equipped with advanced IGBT converter technology, enables precise temperature control, reduces scrap, and optimizes production efficiency.

This collaboration underscores extrutec’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions for the aluminum extrusion industry.
