The new 60MN extrusion line has officially been opened at HAIMK in Korea.

HAIMK, the joint venture between LS Materials and Hammerer Aluminium Industries, opened its new extrusion line in Gumi today. The plant is dedicated to producing battery cases and has an annual capacity of 300,000 EVs. Extrutec was awarded the contract to deliver the complete heating system, which includes a gas oven, an integrated energy-saving unit, a standalone induction furnace with friction-free billet clamping systems and a profile cooling system with Alpha Flex technology. A taper quench has also been installed to supplement the heating system. The scope of supply also includes an overhead die furnace, a fully automated ageing oven system and a heating furnace for press plates.

This project was the third to be completed using HAI's technological expertise, and the first outside Europe. A special thank you for the great cooperation was given to Jeong-Woo Cho (CEO HAI MK), Rob van Gils (CEO HAI), Markus Schober (COO HAI) and Peter Blatt (Project Manager HAI).
